Well we weren't just threw with ole summer yet. A couple of weeks ago Shane, me and Luke headed down to Galveston. Beth and Pete Mulligan had invited us down along with some other friends of theirs to join in the fun. The house we stayed in was very nice, as it belong to some friends of Beth and Pete's. It was Luke's first time at the beach and after some time of trepidation I believe he was digging it. The weather was great! It was mostly cloudy and rained some which made for a very mild August in Texas. Here are some pictures and the video is of Luke chasing that blasted bird.

On a side note unrelated to Luke, Shane and I took a trip by ourselves a couple of weeks ago. We went with some friends down to Big Bend to canoe down the Rio Grande. It was beautiful and I wanted to share a couple of snap shots. When we got there, we found out the it was the rainy season, yeah rainy season in August in Texas. So that meant the river was moving to fast and furious for a canoe so we settled for a raft and kayak. There are three canyons you can raft through at Big Bend, this year we went down through the Santa Elena. We were the only ones on the river, we floated, drank beer, got knee deep in mud, it was great. It was a two day trip (12 miles I believe) so we had to pull off for the night to set up camp, by the next morning the river had risen 5 ft. We will defiantly be doing this again.
