Merry Christmas!

On a final note Luke has been a little sick. I took him to the ER last Sunday his temperature was really high. They told us he had RSV, it's like a really bad bronchitis and it looked like he had pneumonia. They sent us home with some antibiotics and breathing treatment, well on Thursday he didn't seem to be any better. When I took him back to the doctor Luke had developed 2 ear infections so they decided to admit him to the hospital. After a night of fluids and antibiotics he looked better. He didn't much like just having to lay in bed but once he found out how to work the bed he was having a good ole time. He's feeling much better now hopefully he will be 100% by Christmas.

This is Luke's picture from school. We had some professional ones done but they are not ready yet.

We actually ventured out on black Friday, my first. Luke took a ride in a train in the mall he loved it.

Oh wow I'm so slow about updating this. Well we haven't been too busy since Halloween just trying to get some fun Christmas things in. First off I took Luke up to see the trains at Northpark and he loved them. This is him drinking a smoothie after the first trip. And then we went back when aunt Meggan visited.

Halloween

Here are some pictures of Luke's Halloween party, I think all the kids had fun. Though the costumes didn't stay on that long.

And here are some pictures of Luke that night, if you can't tell he is suppose to be a ghost.

October

We have been enjoying the great weather this fall, hope it last. Earlier this month some friends and us went to the pumpkin patch, it was very different than last year. All the kiddos thought it was much more fun to climb the pumpkins.

We also went down to my folks for a fall hayride and bonfire.

Today was Luke's Halloween party at his school. He went as superman today but he is planning to be a ghost for Halloween. Topher is the chicken in the pictures, too funny.

First day at school

Luke started school on Wednesday he was very excited.
Well we weren't just threw with ole summer yet. A couple of weeks ago Shane, me and Luke headed down to Galveston. Beth and Pete Mulligan had invited us down along with some other friends of theirs to join in the fun. The house we stayed in was very nice, as it belong to some friends of Beth and Pete's. It was Luke's first time at the beach and after some time of trepidation I believe he was digging it. The weather was great! It was mostly cloudy and rained some which made for a very mild August in Texas. Here are some pictures and the video is of Luke chasing that blasted bird.

On a side note unrelated to Luke, Shane and I took a trip by ourselves a couple of weeks ago. We went with some friends down to Big Bend to canoe down the Rio Grande. It was beautiful and I wanted to share a couple of snap shots. When we got there, we found out the it was the rainy season, yeah rainy season in August in Texas. So that meant the river was moving to fast and furious for a canoe so we settled for a raft and kayak. There are three canyons you can raft through at Big Bend, this year we went down through the Santa Elena. We were the only ones on the river, we floated, drank beer, got knee deep in mud, it was great. It was a two day trip (12 miles I believe) so we had to pull off for the night to set up camp, by the next morning the river had risen 5 ft. We will defiantly be doing this again.

Summer's coming to an end

Well summer is drawing to an end and we have had a pretty laid back one. It has been really hot so outdoor activities have been limited. We have found a few things to do, the galleria has a nice indoor play area, and the spray parks were great, well up until they started making people sick.
We do have one more trip with Luke this summer, we will be heading down to Galveston with friends, that should be fun.
This past Wednesday me, Luke and his aunt Jennifer checked out the Dallas World Aquarium in downtown Dallas. It was pretty cool Luke liked the birds and the jaguar.

This is us on the 4th of July, yep we had dinner at Gloria's. We didn't see any fireworks. Luke was sick so we all stayed in, but that didn't stop him from dressing for the occasion.

Just Luke having some summer fun staying cool with the water hose. Later he drinks from it of course. Also he was enjoying some corn on the cob from Grandpa W's garden, a must have for summer. Here's a little video of Luke finding fun in the great indoors.

But it wasn't all fun and games this summer Luke had to keep up with his chores of course, we ain't running a day spa around here. Hope everyone is having a great summer too, can't wait for cooler weather.

Catching up

Well we have just had a whirlwind of the past couple of weeks. First off Luke and I headed down to Houston on Memorial day to hang with the cousins for a week. Unfortunatly I was sick the whole time, Luke had a runny nose but I still think he had a good time. The first pictures is of Luke getting ready to try out his new jet ski floatie.

At the end of the week we headed to Anderson for uncle Aaron's graduation. It was a pretty hot day so Luke decided to cool off in the water.

After that we were off to the Frio river for some more fun in the sun.

But know we are home safe and sound.

Busy, busy

Well Luke has been a busy bee. On Friday we went to the zoo, though the only animals he could get close enough to see were the bronze ones.

And on Saturday Luke went to his buddy, Ethan's birthday party. They had a little pool set up in the backyard. He alone in all the pictures because he didn't like sharing the pool, he would only get in if he was all alone.

Today we went to a great spray park not far from us. Thanks Paige for finding it. I think Luke enjoyed it he mostly stood in the water and shivered, but he didn't want to leave so I take that as a good sign.

This last video is of Luke feeding himself his soy ice cream, it was a mess but I think he got a little in his mouth.
